About this listen

They say love lasts forever. But they’re wrong. Love can never be measured by time. When Max, a twenty-something kid stuck in a jail-to-rehab cycle, tricks his father’s friend, Chris, into getting him out of jail and reuniting him with his mother in Canada, he forces Chris into a lover’s reunion that Chris has been running from his whole life.

And though the journey north may recall for Chris a few idyllic moments from the '60s, today’s journey is a dangerous one as he and Max are chased by drug dealers, pursued by Max’s impetuous Muslim girlfriend, Kali, and ambushed by her vicious brothers.

The most treacherous part of the journey, though, begins when the destination is reached and Max’s hidden motive for staging his escape to Canada sets in motion a complex triad of duplicity, betrayal, and finally, hope, illuminating the secrets of the heart too long veiled in fear and regret.
