Story
In 1984, at the age of 20, Duff McKagan left his native Seattle - partly to pursue music, but mainly to get away from a host of heroin overdoses then-decimating his closest group of friends in the local punk scene. In LA only a few weeks and still living in his car, he answered a want ad for a bass player placed by someone who identified himself only as "Slash." Soon after, the most dangerous band in the world was born. Guns N' Roses went on to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide.

James Hetfield, with whom many years ago Mustaine founded a band known as Metallica, once observed, with some incredulity, that Mustaine must have been born with a horseshoe up his ass. That's how lucky he's been, how fortunate he is to be pulling breath after so many close calls. And Hetfield is right. Mustaine has been lucky. He has been blessed. But here's the thing about having a horseshoe lodged in your rectum: It also hurts like hell. And you never forget it's there.

Fame can be addictive. From his early days videotaping crazy skateboard stunts to starring in the blockbuster Jackass franchise, there was little that Stephen “Steve-O” Glover wouldn’t do for attention. Whether it was stapling his nutsack to his leg, diving into a pool full of elephant crap, or routinely risking death invading the private lives of sharks, lions, tigers, and bears, almost nothing was out of bounds. And as the stunts got crazier, his life kept pace.

Story
Face the Music is the shocking, funny, smart, inspirational story of one of rock’s most enduring icons and the group he helped create. Stanley mixes compelling personal revelations and gripping, gritty war stories that will surprise even the most steadfast member of the KISS Army. He takes us back to his childhood in the 1950s and 60s, a time made more painful thanks to a physical deformity. Born with a condition called microtia, he grew up partially deaf, with only one ear. But this instilled in him an inner drive to succeed in the most unlikely of pursuits: music.

People ask me how come I'm still alive, and I don't know what to say. When I was growing up, if you'd have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of 60, with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and California, I wouldn't have put money on me, no f--king way. But here I am: ready to tell my story, in my own words, for the first time. A lot of it ain't gonna be pretty. I've done some bad things in my time. But I ain't the devil.

Pioneers of Britain's nascent Rock and Metal scene back in the late 1970s, Iron Maiden smashed its way to the top, thanks in no small part to the high-octane performances, operatic singing style, and stage presence of its second, but twice-longest-serving, lead singer, Bruce Dickinson. As Iron Maiden's front man - first from 1981 to 1993, and then from 1999 to the present - Dickinson has been, and remains, a man of legend.

It was a time of self-shit: self-importance, self-absorption, self-indulgence and selfishness. I was the only person in the known galaxy and I wanted what the fuck I wanted sooner rather than later." The action begins in Iowa, where Corey Taylor committs each of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Total F*cking Godhead is the complete story of the complex and enigmatic artist, Chris Cornell. It's the riveting account of a blue collar, high-school dropout emerging from Seattle, Washington, to become one of the greatest singer-songwriters and voices of his generation. With input from people who knew and worked with him - together with Cornell's own words - the book recounts in great detail the rise of his immortal band Soundgarden as they emerged from the 1980s post-punk underground to dominate popular culture in the '90s alongside other Seattle bands like Pearl Jam.

Publisher's Summary
18 and Life on Skid Row tells the story of a boy who spent his childhood moving from Freeport, Bahamas, to California and finally to Canada and who, at the age of eight, discovered the gift that would change his life.
Throughout his career Sebastian Bach has sold over 20 million records both as the lead singer of Skid Row and as a solo artist. He is particularly known for the hit singles "I Remember You", "Youth Gone Wild", and "18 & Life" and the albums Skid Row and Slave to the Grind, which became the first ever hard rock album to debut at number one on the Billboard Top 200 and landed him on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Bach then went on to become the first rock star to grace the Broadway stage, with starring roles in Jekyll & Hyde, Jesus Christ Superstar, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also appeared for seven seasons on the hit television show Gilmore Girls.
In his memoir Bach recounts lurid tales of excess and debauchery as he toured the world with Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Soundgarden, Pantera, Nine Inch Nails, and Guns N' Roses. 18 and Life on Skid Row is the story of hitting it big at a young age and of a band that broke up in its prime. It is the story of a man who achieved his wildest dreams, only to lose his family and then his home. It is a story of perseverance; of wine, women, and song; and of a man who has made his life on the road and always will. 18 and Life on Skid Row is not your ordinary rock memoir, because Sebastian Bach is not your ordinary rock star.

this book immediately grabs your attention , the way Sebastian narrates the book kept a smile on my face the entirety of the listen as he seems so happy recounting His Glory Days and even the days he enjoys now. there are many great stories here, some that will make you laugh out loud and some that will make you misty-eyed. Amazing Stories include encounters with Metallica, Pantera, Guns N Roses, Motley Crue and many others. he has indeed had an amazing career. Made My Ride To Work Rock!!!
I have a pretty long commute to and from work, and I couldn't wait to get in the car and listen to more of this book! Sebastian Bach is a talented rock star who has lived a life that has been anything but ordinary compared to the lives of us average peeps...but he is extremely down-to-earth, relatable, and funny. When he laughs during his narration, YOU laugh right along with him. He is a fantastic narrator, and I enjoyed listening to him tell all his stories of life, the music business, and crazy behind-the-scenes moments that make rock star bios so awesome. I have listened to quite a few autobiographies lately (actors, comedians, musicians) and Sebastian's is definitely one of my favorites. Sebastian's love of music is clear in this book, and if you are a big music fan like I am, you will truly enjoy his story!

Loved How Sebastian Told His Story
What did you love best about 18 and Life on Skid Row?
How Sebastian tells his story. I've listened to a lot of bios and this one is one of a kind. You hear everything when he is telling you his story. He laughs, makes comments and sound effects.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Of course Sebastian
Which scene was your favorite?
The start and middle. I grew up listening to Skid Row and all of the bands that he was talking about. He tells the stories, the real stories.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I just wanted everyone else to hear him. Hear how he tells his story. I'm so happy I didn't read it and I listened to it.
Any additional comments?
This is a truly one of a kind book. I would recommend it to everyone. It's hard to describe the stories and storytelling but if you listen to this book you won't regret it!

Really good in spots
A couple of very raw, genuine moments. I enjoyed the story of his youth and younger years. I also enjoyed the partying with other musicians stories while in Skid Row. A weird random sex story that’s out of the blue was odd. Almost just to brag. Never spoke about the nature of his relationship with his wife as to why/ how he hooked up with so many women with no issues. Holes in the break up of Skid Row. Why did he have his own bus? He had to know something was up. Why do the other band members hate him so much? His divorce, which if he didn’t want to talk about just don’t mention it. But he did with no details as to why things broke down or why he felt he lost his kids. The book was really good and honest in spots. But there were obvious questions that would come to mind as I read/listened and they never got resolved.

I was 18 again
I got bewitched by Sebastian’s singing when I was 18 years old and Skid Row first album was released. And I would lie if I say that it wasn’t for his looks too. Come on! He was GORGEOUS! I still love rock music and metal music, but I’m not 18 anymore. Reading biographies of a rockstars takes me back to the beautiful times when we were young and thought that world belongs to us, and being a rockstar is amazing and easy life. Now I know it’s not easy and rockstars have a demons for their shadows. I’m grateful for the music and for being my companions throughout my youth. And I want to thank you Sebastian Bach for sharing your stories with us. No matter what happened, no matter what media showed us about you, you were an inspiration. Because of you, my son’s name is Sebastian (and yes, my husband know that) Reading/listening in this case, to this book took me back again. Thank you for the soundtrack to my life. :)

Great performance
Overall this a great audio book for anyone who witnessed these times and loves the music. It's a great performance by Mr Bach (nobody else could do this justice) but there are a few contradictions throughout that give the indication that perhaps not everything here is as it happened. Sometimes the tales we all want to hear are glossed over and at other times tales not that interesting are given great detail. But, still well worth a listen and interesting in many parts.

Metal God!
I bought a hard copy of this book as well as the audiobook. Some great photos in it. If you are a Sebastian Bach/Skid Row fan this is a must! It’s great to hear the hyperactivity of Sebastian especially when he adds a Bonus Bonus BONUS! 😂 Listen to it, you wont be disappointed.🤘🏻

Excellent performance by Sebastian himself!
Bonuses left right and centre and a very fun performance not being afraid to use sound effects and laugh a little now and again, all in all a very fun and interesting insight of how bach joined skid row and so on.

A must for any fans of Skid Row.
From start to finish Sebastian puts his heart and soul into the stories of his life just like he does in his music. Entertaining, sad in parts and hilarious in others. Unbelievable how relateable his stories are. This is not one to leave on the virtual shelf.
