Food writer Bee Wilson has written about food from many different angles. Her latest book is THE HEART-SHAPED TIN, about the emotional life of kitchen objects told in 35 short stories, part memoir and part other people's stories, from a Syrian refugee's vegetable corers to a spoon made in a concentration camp to a beloved mother's salt shaker. It tells the story of how the tin she baked her wedding cake in fell to the floor after her husband left; and how her mother's dementia played out through the kitchen objects they both held dear. In 2023, Nigella Lawson chose her debut cookbook THE SECRET OF COOKING as her Cookbook Corner cookbook of the year. She has also written about the history of kitchen technology (CONSIDER THE FORK), children's food habits and the psychology of eating (FIRST BITE) and food politics (THE WAY WE EAT NOW). She has written about food and other subjects for a wide range of publications including The Guardian, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The London Review of Books. She has three children. She co-founded the charity TastEd aimed at bringing the joy of vegetables and fruit to children in schools and nurseries.
