I was born in 1991 in Lismore, Australia, the son of a Croatian–Aboriginal Australian mother (Wiradjuri tribe) and a Scottish-English father who left when I was one. Raised by my mother in a turbulent and wild household, I found refuge in video games and books. My grandmother taught me to read and inspired my passion for storytelling. Though my formal education was frequently interrupted, I completed high school in 2008 and have since pursued a life of learning with a deep focus on literature and writing. I fell in love with speculative fiction through the works of Jack Vance, Robert E. Howard, Roger Zelazny, and Andrzej Sapkowski. I now live in New York City, where I volunteer in high-risk communities, supporting anti-violence, addiction recovery, and literacy programs. I also bring over eight years of professional experience in copywriting and marketing, helping drive thousands of book sales and millions in donations for social causes. This novel is a tribute to my grandmother, and to high-quality, entertainment-driven fiction. I have attached the first 25 pages per your agency’s guidelines.
