Steven James Wallace spent more than forty years developing mission-critical technology for national defense and secure communications. Throughout his career, however, one belief only grew stronger: the most important work of all happens at home.

Inspired by his wonderful wife, three children, and seven grandchildren, Steven now writes gentle, character-building stories that help children discover the light already inside them. His books encourage young readers to develop kindness, perseverance, courage, honesty, empathy, and confidence through everyday experiences that feel familiar and meaningful.

Steven is the creator of The Little Light Series, featuring Ayla and her faithful little friend, Lumo—a tiny light whose greatest adventure is learning alongside the only child who can see it. Together, they discover that mistakes become lessons, challenges become opportunities, and every child has a unique light worth sharing.

Steven believes, as generations before him have, that children are our greatest investment in the future. He is passionate about helping young readers develop kindness, honesty, perseverance, empathy, responsibility, and respect for others—qualities that build strong families, caring communities, and meaningful lives. Through stories that encourage thoughtful conversations between children and the adults who love them, he hopes to give families opportunities to nurture character one small lesson at a time.
