Sonia Zaghetto is a Brazilian author, journalist, and translator with a rich portfolio of published works. She is the author of the historical book "História de Oiapoque" (2019), published by the Brazilian Senate, which delves into the significant events along Brazil's border with French Guiana. Sonia also co-authored "Crônicas de A a Z" (2020), a collection of essays published by Ed. Realejo/Flique. Her third book, "Crônicas do Vento de Abril", was released in January 2022 and gained further recognition in November 2023, when its ebook version ranked first in its category on Amazon's Kindle platform. In 2020, Sonia collaborated with Brazilian theater director and playwright Cláudio Chinaski to release "A Página em Branco dos teus Olhos", a collection of short stories. In May 2021, she published "O Correio", a Portuguese translation of Rabindranath Tagore's play "The Post-Office", bringing the work of the Nobel laureate to a new audience. Sonia's passion for literary classics continued in 2022 when she organized and annotated a new Brazilian edition of Virginia Woolf’s seminal essay "A Room of One’s Own", published by Tagore Editora. Most recently, in 2024, Sonia published her debut novel "Tales Written in Water" (Histórias Escritas na Água). Currently, she is working on her second novel, a family saga set in the Amazon, as well as a new historical book and a translation of the classic Indian sacred text *Bhagavad-Gita.
