Samantha Bovat is a teacher, author, mentor, and lifelong learner with a passion for helping others navigate the unpredictable world of education—and life. A mother of three and proud grandmother, Samantha’s professional journey began with volunteer roles on preschool and elementary school boards. She later held leadership positions in the central office, working closely with both the superintendent and the director of special education. These experiences gave her a front-row seat to the complexities of public education, from curriculum design to student services and policy implementation. At 47, she entered the classroom herself, teaching 5th and 6th grade in a small rural school. Though her teaching career was shorter than most, it was rich with insight, humor, and lessons that inspired her first book, Mrs. Bovat’s Survival Guide for New Teachers—a practical, no-nonsense resource embraced by educators across the country. Outside of education, Samantha has spent years in the world of small business. She brings a unique blend of leadership, communication, and organizational savvy to everything she does—including running her family’s plumbing company. That diverse experience informs her writing and fuels her belief that practical knowledge and adaptability are just as important in the classroom as they are in business. Today, Samantha supports educators, nonprofits, and organizations as a writer, speaker, and consultant—specializing in grant writing, professional development, and storytelling that makes a difference. She’s currently working on her next book, dedicated to the unsung heroes of the school system: substitute teachers.
