Robert B. Gregg is an award-winning producer, screenwriter, novelist, and journalist. Gregg was a Finalist in the 2019 Chicago Film Festival Screenwriting Competition for The Last of the Mohicans 1812. The script was also a finalist in the 2020 Atlanta Film Festival Screenwriting Competition, the 2020 Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition, the 2021 Miami Film Festival Screenwriting Competition, and the 2021 Table Read My Screenplay Competition. Gregg's script for The Doctor was a finalist at the 2021 Portland Screenplay Contest. Gregg recently optioned his feature screenplay Never Quit to Grant and Dale Bradley at Aristos Films. Award-winning director Adrian Bol will direct the film. Never Quit is the true story of Glenn Cunningham, one of the greatest track stars ever. The film is an adaptation of Gregg's book on Cunningham. Gregg has completed ten screenplays in the past ten years, including Jack London's Love of Life. The film was released worldwide and won all Four International Film Festivals it was entered in, including the following honors: the 2012 Louisville International Festival of Film, Best Feature Film, the 2012 Great Lakes International Film Festival, Best of Festival, the 2012 Moondance International Film Festival (New York City), Finalist, Atlantis Award, and the 2013 Snowdance Film Festival (Washington) Best of Festival. Gregg's two epic historical novels, The Quest for the Holy Grail and The Book of the Holy Grail, and his adventure/thriller Moonshadows, are published by Avalon House Classics. They are available worldwide, both of which have five-star ratings. The biography Never Quit has just been released by Kansas University Press and has great reviews. His screenplays include The Last of the Mohicans 1812, Moonshadows, The Doctor, The Quest for the Holy Grail, Jack London's Love of Life, The Monastery, The Christmas Ship, The Maelstrom, Never Quit, and Tock-Tick. Gregg was an award-winning journalist for over 30 years, winning over 40 journalism awards. He served on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Press Association for ten years and its Executive Committee for five years. He was unanimously elected President of the Michigan Press Association in 1999. Gregg served as Chairman of the Associated Press Readability Committee for six years. Gregg also served on the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame Board of Directors for over ten years. He and his wife owned Gregg Publishing Company. They published The Ski Journal, the world's most popular cross-country skiing magazine, for 31 years before ceasing publication in 2020. The Ski Journal was the Official Journal of the U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Ski and Snowboard for over ten years. Gregg has eight children, 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. He is a former Benedictine monk who lives with his wife, Nancy, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula during summer and fall and in Davenport, Florida, during winter and spring. Bob is an avid sports enthusiast. He has medaled in over 300 cycling and cross-country ski races, including winning six National Masters Championship medals in cross-country skiing. Gregg skied for the United States in seven World Masters Championships, where he won a bronze medal. He won the bronze medal in the 1989 U.S. National Triathlon Championship team event. He captured four gold and two silver medals in World Corporate Games competitions. He has also won 16 Michigan State Master's titles in five sports, including cycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, in-line skating, and speed skating. He was a member of the Great Lakes Games championship soccer team. Gregg currently holds seven Michigan State Masters competition records in three sports. He no longer competes. He worked for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions from age 11 to 18 during the 1950s, including being the Detroit Lion's water boy.
