At home, I enjoy the open skies and broad fields of East Anglia. I participate in the local Beccles U3A creative writing and family history groups. At the end of World War II, my father worked for the Control Commission Germany, and I attended King Alfred School north Germany. It was the first comprehensive, co-eductional boarding-school funded by the British government. It was also the first and only school to have its own train picking up all throughout the British Zone. I studied physics in Hamburg and London. Working with the UK Atomic Energy Authority, I researched the radiation levels following the Windscale incident and during the commissioning of the World's first nuclear power reactors at Calder Hall. This gained me my PhD. I moved into Operations Research, held ICT director positions at Vickers and British Shipbuilders and then entered management consultancy, specialising in advising the public sector on business strategy. Among diverse clients were the Natural History Museum and the Admiralty Research Establishment. I became Emeritus Professor at Girne American University in North Cyprus and was a member of its management board. Until recently, I acted as an external examiner for Middlesex University's German-language DBA program. All my working life I have been writing specialist non-fiction.. However, my debut survival saga, Odessa 1919, is for all. Researching for a historical biography was a new experience. I visited Ukraine in 1999 and 2018. Death, personal dangers and emotions are foreign to scientific research and social research can be very subjective. This difference provided unique challenges in interpretation and presentation. Next I plan an anthology of short stories and and audio edition of Odessa 1919. In the meantime, please persuade your friends of the excitement and uniqueness of Odessa 1919. Photos: 1.
