Pete obtained his amateur radio licence in 2010 and, after being an active member of several traditional amateur radio clubs, founded the online community Essex Ham to help promote amateur radio and raise awareness of the hobby. The community has since grown into one of the largest in the UK.
Noticing a lack of accessible online training, Pete created Foundation Online, a comprehensive course that has helped over 14,000 people study for and achieve their first amateur radio licence.
Pete began his career in the radio broadcast industry before moving into software design and project management roles with Psion and Adobe. He has worked on a range of online media projects and spent several years as a part-time college lecturer. Pete remains passionate about technology, communications, and radio.
