Pete obtained his amateur radio licence in 2010, and after having been an active member of local traditional amateur radio clubs, formed the online community Essex Ham to help promote amateur radio and to raise awareness for the hobby. The community has grown to one of the largest in the UK.
Noticing the lack of online training courses, Pete created Foundation Online, a comprehensive Internet course that has now helped over 12,000 people to study for their first amateur radio licence.
Pete started his career in the radio broadcast industry for many years, later becoming a software designer and project manager for Psion and Adobe. He has worked on a number of online media projects and was a part-time college lecturer for many years. Pete continues to be passionate about technology, communications and radio.
