Passions include teaching people about the paleo way, surfing, fishing – and cooking and living with a fantastically feel-good healthy focus. Restaurants have been a part of Pete’s life since the age of 19. He has opened seven in his time as a chef and restaurateur. High-profile catering is another proud passion – from a royal banquet for the Prince and Princess of Denmark to a private dinner for Martha Stewart or a gala G’Day USA dinner for 600 in New York City, Pete loves making any event super special. Cooking, food and lifestyle TV programs have been another of Pete’s highly successful pursuits. Starting out in 2001 as a co-presenter on the Lifestyle Channel’s Home show, his credits also include Postcards from Home, FISH, and co-host with Manu Feildel since 2009 of Channel 7’s hugely and internationally successful My Kitchen Rules. Pete’s latest TV series, Moveable Feast, showcases America’s finest artisans, producers and chefs and is currently screening in the US. He contributes to many publications, including producing regular columns for Fine Cooking, Wellbeing, MiNDFOOD, Gourmet Traveller. Speaking about healthy eating and wellness for a small crowd to thousands, is another passion of Pete’s. One of the worlds leading authorities on healthy cooking and lifestyle, he loves to share his knowledge and educate and motivate parents, children and corporate audiences. And they love him! Supporting organisations in synch with his own values is another of Pete’s passions. He is involved with Regenesis Youth (a new organisation dedicated to empowering disengaged teenagers) and the Mindd Foundation (using integrative healthcare, including food as medicine, in the treatment of metabolic, immunologic, neurologic, digestive and developmental conditions that often affect the mind). Pete is also an ambassador of the Australian Organic Schools garden project.
