Maurizio Cigognetti has passed his professional life as an Art Director in Advertising Agencies, followed up as a photographer and finally as a film director. His childhood was filled with a mix of English, Italian and Arabic and magical stories, as told by his parents who grew up in the African colonies. He now divides his time between Milan and the Tuscan town of Cortona where he lives with his Australian wife, surrounded by olive trees and a menagerie of animals. ‘Replicante’ was born from sleepless nights and downtime while sitting and waiting for plains and trains.
