About the Author
Where It Began
Mary Rossignol grew up in a close-knit Italian-American family with her parents, Peter and Florence, and four brothers. From them she learned toughness, loyalty, and character, values that still guide her coaching, mentoring, and writing. Family, hard work, kindness, and resilience became the foundation of her life and her purpose.
Forty Years with Teens
For over forty years, Mary has coached and mentored teenagers, celebrating their wins, supporting them through losses, and engaging in countless conversations in gyms and on carpools about life's challenges. One truth has stood out: teens want to be seen, valued, and believed in. When that happens, they discover strengths they never knew they had.
Her Books
That insight inspired her first book, Self-Esteem for Teens, written to help young people quiet self-doubt, recognize their worth, and build genuine confidence. Her second book, Purpose-Driven Life Skills for Teens and Tweens, builds on that foundation, showing teens how to handle pressure, make wise choices, bounce back from setbacks, and grow into dependable individuals. Together, these books chart a path: first, believe in yourself, then live with purpose.
Her Message
To teens, her message is simple: you are not alone; everyone your age faces doubt and pressure. These books are not here to lecture but to walk alongside you with encouragement and practical tools. For parents, coaches, and mentors, Mary hopes these pages serve as a trusted resource to support and share.
From The Author
How It Started
My first book, Self-Esteem for Teens, was written to help young people see their worth, quiet self-doubt, and start building real confidence. With over 40 years of coaching and mentoring teens, I've seen firsthand how fragile self-esteem can be. I've also seen how powerful it becomes once teens believe in themselves. That book distilled decades of experience into practical tools teens can use to build a strong foundation.
The Next Step
Self-esteem is only the beginning. Once a teen knows their value, the next challenge is learning to live with purpose. That's why I wrote Purpose-Driven Life Skills for Teens and Tweens. It builds on confidence and teaches how to stay calm under pressure, make wise choices, bounce back from setbacks, and be someone others can count on. Together, the two books create a path: first, believe in yourself; then, practice the skills to thrive.
A Note for Teens and Tweens
If you're a teen or tween reading this, know that you're not alone. Everyone your age wrestles with confidence, direction, and pressure. These books won't lecture you; they'll walk beside you. The stories and exercises are designed to provide you with encouragement and practical strategies that you can apply immediately.
A Note for Parents and Mentors
If you're a parent, coach, or teacher, thank you for guiding the teens in your life. It isn't always easy to know what to say. I hope these books serve as a resource you can trust, something to spark conversations, share encouragement, or hand to a teen who needs it most.
Final Thought
Wins and losses fade, but confidence, resilience, and character last a lifetime. That's why I wrote these books. If they help even one teen feel stronger and more purposeful, they've done their job.
With gratitude and purpose,
Coach Mary Rossignol
