After studies at New York University she produced programs for children and youth at TVE, the Public Spanish TV, alternating with simultaneous interpreting. Recruited to train interpreters at Stockholms Universitet, Gustafsson initiated a writing career, first in Swedish, with 3 spy fiction novels, a true-crime anthology, and a romance written under pseudonym with another author. It is in her work for Prime Ministers, at Political Summits, for International Corporations and Conferences, that Gustafsson gains insight into the matters that inspire her novels. The Asset is the first of a series about Klara Andersson, a Swedish interpreter who cooperates both with the CIA and the most secret branch of the Swedish Military Intelligence Security Service, KSI.
