Margaret Eastman, known to her friends as Peg, is a native Charlestonian whose family dates back to the early settlers of the Carolina colony. She is now a freelance writer for the Charleston Mercury and has co-authored Certifying Workers Skills in the Chemical Industry published by McGraw-Hill. She edited and published her mother's poems in a book entitled Verses by Marwee (2004). Peg co-authored and coordinated the publication of Mendel and Me, Life with Congressman L. Mendel Rivers (The Serviceman's Best Friend) (2007) and has written Remembering Old Charleson - A Peek Behind Parlor Doors (2008, Old Charleston Originals from Celebrities to Scountrels (2011)and Hidden History of Civil War Charleston (2012). She co-authored Hidden History of Old Charleston with Edward Good (2010).
