Lauren Seeley Aguirre is the author of The Memory Thief and the Secrets Behind How We Remember -- A Medical Mystery (finalist for the 2022 PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award) and Epilepsy For Dummies (2025). An award-winning science journalist and MIT graduate, Aguirre has contributed to The Atlantic, Undark Magazine, and STAT, and has produced acclaimed feature documentaries and digital content for the PBS series NOVA. She is at work on a novel about a young woman living in a colony for people with epilepsy in the early 1900s. Her stories often explore the terrain where neuroscience and medicine meet.
