John Wemlinger is a retired US Army Colonel with 27 years of active duty service. He spent half of that time overseas and nearly half of those years in command of various size units from company to battalion to brigade. His military decorations include the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit and the Defense Superior Service Medal. He is a combat veteran of Vietnam where he amassed nearly 1,000 hours of combat flying as a helicopter pilot. The award-winning author of four novels, he writes about what he knows best: America’s veterans and the issues that surround their return from combat.
