John Maldonado, a native of San Francisco, California, is a dedicated salesman for a prominent food and candy distributor by day and a passionate sci-fi enthusiast by night. An avid reader of military science fiction, his love for the genre inspired him to write his debut novel, Nephilim War: Shadows Within the Empire, which has earned over 160 reviews and an impressive 4.4-star rating. The audiobook edition was released on Audible on October 26, 2024, where it received strong praise from listeners.
Expanding the universe of his debut, John went on to write Tales from the Machine War, a Nephilim War short story that explores the origins and backgrounds of key characters from the series. Building on this momentum, he released the prequel Nephilim War: Bloodstorm, followed by Nephilim War Book II: The Price of Resurrection in January 2026.
John is currently hard at work on Nephilim War Book III: The Dark Crusade, while also crafting another installment of Tales from the Machine War. Both projects are slated for release in 2026.
