"Joanna Walsh is fast becoming one of our most important writers" - Deborah Levy Joanna Walsh is the author of eleven books (some co-written with AI that she coded), she has also created digital narratives and public art projects, as well as writing, directing and performing solo and collaborative works. Her writing has been widely published in anthologies and journals including Granta, gorse, The Stinging Fly, the Dublin Review and many more. She has written criticism for The Guardian, The New Statesman, the Los Angeles Review of Book and The TLS. She has been a contributing editor at 3:AM Magazine and Catapult.co, and is an arts activist. She ran #readwomen (2014-18), described by the New York Times as "a rallying cry for equal treatment for women writers" and currently runs the Twitter account @noentry_arts. Her awards include the UK Arts Foundation's 2017 Fellowship in Literature, the Anthony Burgess Centenary Fellowship at Manchester University, the 2020 Markievicz Award, as well as a number of Arts Council grants in Ireland and the UK.
