Jasveer is a Canadian author of Indian descent whose writing is shaped by two worlds—his small-town Indian upbringing and his life in Toronto. He often describes his writing journey as “accidental.” What began as simple journaling gradually evolved into published work across multiple genres. Since 2018, he has written 14 books and co-authored 2 others, spanning fiction, memoir, short stories, biographies, and anthologies. In addition to his books, he frequently writes articles for platforms like Medium, Substack, and his personal blog, where he shares stories, reflections, and insights with readers around the world. Each of his book captures a distinct theme and personal experience, reflecting his evolving voice as an author. From Journalling to Memoir: His writing journey began entirely by chance, with spontaneous journal entries that slowly grew into something much larger. Although Jasveer never planned to become a writer, he has always been drawn to stories. As a student, he stood out as one of the few in his circle who genuinely enjoyed literature and history, and later, in his professional life, he used storytelling as a tool to train and inspire others. His formal journey as an author began in 2018, at the age of 38, when he decided to turn a 200,000-word childhood journal into his debut book, Version One and a Half. He had no formal writing training—only the unwavering encouragement of his late friend, Chetan Singh, whose guidance gave him the confidence to take those first steps toward becoming an author. “Take a chance. Do something bold—publish your story now. Because if you keep it hidden, you’re letting something truly precious slip away.” - Jasveer A Cultural Bridge and Creative Motivation: He was born in Nilokheri, a small town in Haryana, India, surrounded by farmlands and rich cultural traditions. Those early experiences give his writing a distinctly authentic Indian sensibility. His years in Toronto, on the other hand, bring a modern and global lens to his work. He enjoys blending Indian mythology and folklore with contemporary storytelling—a style showcased most clearly in The Hunter series. His Writing Philosophy: He writes because he needs to. For him, writing is a way to untangle ideas—not a pursuit of sales. This approach gives him freedom, clarity, and honesty on the page. His work is rooted in observation and lived experience rather than academic convention, allowing him to write with authenticity and heart.
