James Wittenborg is a novelist and long-time member of the space community. A senior systems engineer with a Masters in Space Studies, he began his career supporting Space Shuttle test flights from Houston's Mission Control Center. He then went on to support the International Space Station (ISS) in Reston, Virginia, and the ISS Robotic Canadarm at the Canadian Space Agency in St. Hubert, Quebec. Currently, he supports the Space Launch System (SLS) program at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. James is the author of The Dream Traveler Series, a trilogy of novels that center around a person's ability to dream himself back to a particular place and time in order to passively observe events. This "gift" aids authorities in solving crimes, however, it soon becomes an unwanted burden when the wrong people become aware of it. A fourth novel was published in November, 2025 called "The Five." It's about how five long-time friends, who normally venture to wild, fun-filled destinations for their annual guys-only trip, decide this year to rent a lake house in a quiet town in the Finger Lakes region of New York. What happens there challenges the friendships among them, as well as their freedom.
