Heiko Mehnert was born in Berlin in 1963 and has lived in his hometown ever since. For more than four decades, he has explored the worlds of communication, marketing, people, and storytelling—first as a copywriter, creative director, agency owner, and lecturer, and later as an author, entrepreneur, and mentor. His professional journey has taken him through remarkable successes, business failures, reinventions, and new beginnings, experiences that continue to shape his writing today. At the core of his work are three guiding principles: relevance, quality, and respect.

As an author, Heiko combines professional expertise with personal experience. His best-known marketing title, Integrated Marketing Communication, reflects decades of hands-on work in branding and communication. In As Happy as a Chocolate Bar, he applies marketing principles to everyday life, showing how people can consciously shape their habits, decisions, and happiness. With Who Am I and What Can I Do?, he addresses young adults searching for direction in life and career.
In 1986 – West Berlin, Heiko turns to memoir and cultural history, taking readers on a vivid journey through the unique atmosphere of West Berlin in the 1980s. Blending personal memories, city history, and everyday life, the book captures a world that has disappeared but continues to influence generations.

His current and upcoming projects explore themes such as quality, branding, society, identity, and the questions that shape how we live together. He is also the author behind the pen name Lena Keller, under which he writes feel-good novels about second chances, friendship, love, and the small moments that change our lives.

When he is not writing, Heiko enjoys road cycling, collecting stories from Berlin, and working on new books about people, brands, culture, and the art of living.
