From humble beginnings, Emiko Love was born and raised in Compton California. Growing up with two well versed artsy parents she was a natural born creator. Believe it or not, her parents performed in Michael Matthew's hit Gospel stage play "I Need a Man"; her mom Yolanda playing the lead role of Mama Lilly while 9 months pregnant with Emiko. Performing since the tender age of 2 years old, she's no stranger to the spotlight. Art was always around her and with both of her parents being writers you can say the ink was embedded in her DNA. 
 Having lost both parents by the age of 15, she is no stranger to hardships. Creative writing has always been something Emiko excelled in from elementary school. A hobby as a child, eventually became her way of overcoming the loss of her many loved ones. Early on she used to post her poetry on Tumblr under the screen name “She is Misunderstood”. Even with everything that she's been through, she continues to uplift the people around her and press forward by spreading positivity. Emiko has always been passionate about storytelling and impressed by the influence it has on people and the decisions they make in life. Her second publication and first book entitled The Commandments of Womanhood first sparked buzz through her blog(mindfulblisss.blogspot.com) where she originally released it for free. After repeated requests for a paperback release, Emiko went on to self publish The Commandments of Womanhood. The Commandments of Womanhood is a 10 chapter inspiration handbook mirrored after The Ten Commandments with a new age spin. It has been referred to as the best friend and mom that a young woman trying to figure herself out while adulting always needed. The Commandments of Womanhood is the first installment of many to come in this ground breaking series. Emiko believes that true healing comes from story telling and hopes to create a platform to help hurting people heal from past trauma. From author to all around entrepreneur, there is no dream to big for this 26 year old show stopper. Stay tuned because Emiko Love will soon become a household name!
