* Visit Author Central Page for video information about the author's books. E.W. Rhodes grew up in a small Northeastern town that is nestled between two mountain ranges. This setting provided him with a natural playground comprised of lakes, woodlands, rolling meadows, and an abundance of wildlife. Besides nature's influence, Rhodes also enjoyed travels that led throughout the U.S. and Europe, leading him to understand that all animal life (including humans) share similarities that are often ignored, yet equally allows for uniqueness. He brings this notion into his artistically illustrated children's books. Rhodes still lives in the Northeast, where he enjoys the wonders of nature and interactions with humankind that often find their way in some form within his children's books. * Note from the author Thank you so much for stopping by. Just briefly, my objective in writing children’s books is to empower children through literature – literature that is laced with basic knowledge, a touch of challenging vocabulary, and meaningful life lessons that are relatable. To be sure, life lessons are what shape and provide children with a better understanding of the world around them, yet often provoke thoughts that stimulate questions about life truths. Children’s book authors often contemplate what truths are out of bounds for children and thus shy away from certain topics. Others, such as E.B. White, in his masterpiece ‘Charlotte’s Web,’ broached subjects that some considered off-limits, yet in a manner that was sensitive and enriching. I tend to follow White’s lead and would be thrilled if I could make one-tenth of the mark he carved into children’s literature one day. ~ E. W. Rhodes
