I am an Irish academic. born in Canada, but living in Brighton in the UK! My passions are bluespaces, wellbeing and teaching. As a child, I learned to swim in Irish rivers and in Lake Winnipeg. I moved to the wild Atlantic coast of Western Ireland after a personal bereavement..and allowed the wild nature to do its job. I've lectured in universities for 25 years and have published many peer reviewed research articles. I am also a wellbeing practitioner and run Blue Space retreats and workshops, as well as my own Chillsquad programme for young people. My Wild Blue School provides learning and conservation awareness about the coast, oceans and all water as beautiful, precious resources. I am a mother to two awesome boys, and every chance we get we are wild swimming, surfing or hanging out by the water. I love to write about bluespaces, research them, play in them, talk about them and encourage everyone on Planet Earth to look after them! You can find me on Instagram @bluespaces_uk.
