Hi, my name is Dr Ciarán Mc Mahon. I'm an academic psychologist living in Dublin, Ireland. I write to explain the human aspects of technology, specifically social media and cybersecurity. I'm also a director of the Institute of Cyber Security and an award-winning academic psychologist. A former Government of Ireland Scholar, I have published research on the history of psychological language, the psychology of social media, digital wellness and the social impact of cybercrime. I've worked at a number of third level institutions and have extensive national and international media experience. I also have bylines have in The Times, The Irish Independent, The Journal, Slate, The Psychologist and InfoSecurity Magazine. I have also delivered keynote addresses at a variety of audiences, including political conventions, health service committees, information security events, police force workshops, as well academic conferences. I also try to stay active in legislative and policy developments in online safety and security developments.
