Born 1968, Axel Gyldén is a senior reporter to the French renowned newsmagazine L'EXPRESS. Based in Paris, he has been covering Latin american affairs since 1995. He also covers and writes about other parts of the world: Europe, Russia, Africa. He is the author of a history of Brazil (Le Roman de Rio, 2007, Le Rocher) and the co-author of an interview book with the russian opponent Edward Limonov (Limonov par Edouard Limonov, 2011, Express-Roularta) as well as the co-author of a lifestyle guide about Scandinavia (Le Guide de la Scandinavie à Paris, 2015, Le Chêne). The double life of Fidel Castro (Saint Martin Press, 2015), written with Fidel Castro's former bodyguard Juan Reinaldo Sanchez, was initially published in France in 2014 under the title "La vie cachée de Fidel Castro" (Michel Lafon publishing)
