About this listen

She takes my breath away; she is so beautifully damaged. Yes, I had broken her, ravished her life, and destroyed her happiness. I brought her to the ultimate despair. I was responsible for all the pain and suffering that now brought her to her knees in front of me. Broken. Hopeless. Reckless in her agony.

She is a mirror of my own tortured soul. But what I took away I can give back, in ways she cannot even begin to imagine. She is everything right in all my wrongs. She loves me. She needs me. She has no idea I'm the one who wrecked her life.

Contains mature themes.

This is the 3rd Carian Cole book I've read and so far, I've enjoyed them all. The story lines and well constructed and the characters are just right. This book in particular is very dark and a bit depressing but it just adds to the story. There is a lot more sex scenes in this compared to the other books. The voice actors suit the characters, especially Vandal. The BDSM is not OTT. I would reread.

Any additional comments?

The opening scene of this book tore my heart up into little pieces! VANDAL is more angsty and heartbreaking than the first book in the Embers and Ashes series, STORM.

Vandal is a very broken hero with a very sad childhood and an even sadder present. When he meets Tabatha, who is also going through her own loss and heartache, he sees it as an opportunity to perhaps make amends for his mistakes. I loved the BDSM exploration in this story. I liked that it doesn't fully dominate the entire plot and there were more layers to this story than just the DS relationship.

Carian Cole's narrative is addictive and entertaining. I loved the interaction with the other band members and their own parallel stories. I listened to the audiobook and Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are one of my favourite narrating duo. They delivered an amazing job as always.

Heartbreaking!

Great narration. The male narrator was made for this role. Yikes! I felt it in my bones. Dark and painful in parts but it's what made the book a great read, then this odd cliff ganger end that makes me hurt for the male lead. He's already been so much. Hopefully there's a sequel or it's fixed up in the other books.

The ending spoilt what was a riveting read

I absolutely loved it but gritted my teeth at the end. if the heroine was playing the game then more should have been explained near the end. maybe vandals response. it's so different to storm and I was not going to purchase Lukas but he and ivy intertwined in this book makes me want to hear it.

Wow, what a circle, with a wicked twist. I loved it. Different entirely to Storms book. Vandal’s story is dark, soul destroying, delicious.
This story takes you through all the highs, lows, of loving someone.
I cried and smirked at some of the things
The heat in this book was fabulous, more with the pearls would have topped it of.
Even the last chapter was good, I liked the twist.

If you have triggers beware, this book has them.
It dark.
Well done to the narrators, they did a fabulous job and made the book.
Definitely worth five stars
