About this listen

Three demons. One woman.

In a dystopian world where women are scarce and fertility rates are declining, Charlotte is captured and sold to three powerful demons. She’s brought into a household filled with secrets, deception, and simmering desire. As truths unfold, she confronts painful realities about the world she thought she knew, and the men who purchased her.

The female decline was swift.

Birth rates dropped at an alarming rate, and within years, men across all realms grew restless and aggressive. Their desperation led to women being collected at birth and sold at auction, and humans gradually became one of the most sought after.

Parents began hiding their daughters, birthing and stowing their females underground in a desperate attempt to keep them safe.

Charlotte is one of them.

Hidden from the men who would tear her family apart to get to her, she’s accepted that she’ll live her entire life within the thick walls of her childhood home.

When the human government permits a large-scale raid, Charlotte is one of the unlucky women caught. Forced out of hiding and thrown into the home of three powerful demons, Charlotte must learn how to stay alive in a world she’s only experienced through stories from her parents.

This paranormal fantasy romance is book 1 of 5 in the ongoing The Female series.

In a world of demons and other creatures, females are a rare commodity that are slowly dwindling. risking the extinction of many species. the woman we follow goes through so much growth and change after being hidden away from the world because of her gender, her parents not wanting to risk her falling into the hands of cruel and greedy males.
the storyline is different and exciting! I will definitely recommend this book.
I'll admit, there were moments I wouldn't have mind some more details in the "world building" aspect but overall, a great listen.
Narrators were good and there is some very nice spicy moments 🌶🌶🌶

interesting story, I really enjoyed it.

I just have one question - Where was the FMCs grief?!

No spoilers really because it happens pretty much straight away in the book, but she literally sees her dad dead and doesn't spare a single thought for him for the rest of the book! What?! Like I get that she is in a tough situation and all that but it honestly came off as heartless and robotic.

On top of that she was beyond annoying. Like surely if you've spent years hiding out, you would've thought about everything you'd do once captured to make sure you're not sold to worse people etc. She just yells and cries and throws things while in honestly the best situation... I can't

Despite her, these three men seem infatuated (for who knows what reason) and they are mostly wonderful to her. I absolutely loved Grey and Silas, but gosh was Aziel annoying. Those two were literally made for each other.

Plot-wise, idk, there was a half a plot? It really felt unfinished. What I did read was interesting enough but could we not have wrapped up one of these plotlines?

Oh and don't expect some amazing world-building. I don't even know where they live really. It's all very vague.

Overall, it was still an interesting concept and I would read the next book, but I'm not rushing to.

Side note - can't say I was a big fan of these voice actors. Specifically the actor for the FMC sounded very fake no matter what she said which honestly ruined it a bit for me

Meh.

Spice was really good in the book. Very good job in building that part up but then it dropped off. Unfortunately it was the only good thing. From the blurb I was expecting a dystopia style hunger games as mentioned, it’s far from hunger games. I really didn’t enjoy the book or the voice acting. The book should have been called uncomfortable for how many times it was said in this book. Two stars are for the spice.

Bland

Bland and drawn out. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. The story was basic and limited spice.

Don’t bother

the FMC narrators voice makes me sick and ruins the story. it's like the FMC just occasionally slips into the knowledge she was raised by Snow white, Minnie mouse AND Marilyn Monroe. She's supposed to be fighting back but sounds like she's Minnie mouse upset. completely ruins the character. I can't even do book 2 and am willing to let the story die which I normally could never do but the narration was disgusting to me.

cringeworthy

I did not enjoy the narrators very much. The storyline was average. I lost interest with an hour to go and couldn’t bring myself to finish. I feel like I wasted my credit on this one.

It’s just meh,
