Where do I start? I spent the first half of this book trying to decide if the writing or the narration was causing me to cringe and roll my eyes every few minutes. I finally decided it was both in equal measures. I noticed the less than stellar writing in the previous book but because the narration was pretty good, it wasn't quite so noticeable. But the male narrator in this one literally sounds like he's playing the straight man in a raucous comedy!

I genuinely have to question if the Author IS actually a female not a male writing under a Nome de Plume because it just seems so blokey and what the writer either imagines or knows what guys think and want. Hope that makes sense.

I really, really struggle to leave a series unfinished but I think this is going to have to be one of those.
