About this listen

Earth is all but dead. With meteors exploding in their midst, the shuttle Grace boards takes flight in a last ditch effort to save human lives. With little food, water and eight stowaways the situation is volatile while they race to the new planet, Ulsy. A wormhole and a crash are their undoing.

While fleeing into the strange surroundings on an even stranger planet two of Grace's shuttle pilots are killed by a massive ebony creature with fangs as white as ivory. Rask is a full blooded Castian warrior who thinks his planet has been stormed. When he comes across the little being that cowers from him he is intrigued. After 400 years and virtual immortality Rask thought he had seen everything.

When the being before him declares herself to be a human female he is beyond amazed. Females have been extinct as long as he can remember. But there is no denying her sweet scent. One inhaled breath is all it takes to drop his shield and reveal the muscular tanned male beneath. Rask had thought his armor impenetrable. One touch from a slender hand and he realizes he is powerless against the tiny human he must have.

Book 1 a fun start to an interstellar romance
escaping from a dying earth to accidentally go through a wormhole and fall to a different planet full of only monsterous large male aliens..
I enjoyed Matthews narration..

first time read of this author and I'm enjoying her writing. the discoveries the hero is making is humorous and Ms Scholey does and great job of keeping it light.
i feel this book is not meant to be deep or gritty, simply a mild, and partly comical discovery of a new planet/species. the little details are skimmed which keeps the book lighter. if your asking yourself those finer detail questions then you'll be disappointed with this novella. in my opinion it's not meant to be too serious, at least not yet anyway. this book basically sets the scene and background so it'll be interesting to see if and how it grows..
I've never listened to Matthew before but I enjoyed his tone and inflections throughout...he has a pleasing dialogue.

I can't stop laughing from Rask naivete, he is unintentionally hilarious lol. Ok i loved this series on digital format and now i am enjoying it on audible. The narration is something u need to get used too, i thought the narrator sounds a bit like an old man (sorry) i was expecting a deep masculine voice for this aliens.

***Steam and fun***

Narrator ruined it by putting on silly voices as if it's a kids' cartoon. Absurd and hard to follow what they're saying when they sound so foolish.
