About this listen

Sometimes it's just about being in the right place at the right time...with the right person.

Sarge is the short story of a burgeoning D/s relationship between two space marines stationed on an alien planet where an endless war drags on.

Sergeant Wilkes is a hard man with a long, celebrated military career.

Brawny, tattooed, and utterly submissive, Murphy is just an interesting diversion...until Sarge realises he has found something truly rare.

When Murphy’s Space Marine unit takes heavy casualties, he takes on the care of his injured sergeant whom he’s always admired, and the two men form a bond. Back in the safety of the base, a recovering Sarge moves gentle giant Murphy into his digs as his submissive but over time the relationship deepens. Apart from the cliffhanger ending, this was a perfect short story - somewhere between gay romance and erotica: you are immediately situated in the action, the characters, and the blossoming relationship, yet nothing feels rushed. Despite the older, more experienced Sarge issuing the commands, it is the quiet, self-assured Murphy who is in control of himself and his reactions, while Sarge learns from him and grows to love him. Audio narrator Nick J Russo voices the gravelly Sarge and the gentle Murphy with his usual excellence.

A perfect gay erotic romance novella!
