Story was ok, but the readers voice was cloying, sickly-sweet… off putting. Hopefully the second book will not sound like it’s aimed a children.

It is much harder to scrub off all the serial numbers of the world that this book was originally written for than you would think. The fanfiction was fire, and this book is enjoyable - and had a few twists and turns I didn't expect. It had me in a near fever pitch by the end - it just takes a while to get there.

I can't be objective about it because I am imagining the characters that the leads are based on. I can't help it. But if you were going into this book fresh, then I suspect it would be even better.

Narrator really got on my nerves though. Sickly sweet I think I have seen it described and they are not wrong. Their villain voices were also so nasally it made my eyes water.

But overall, good, satisfying, itch scratching trash I needed.

Wonderful fic with a cliffhanger that has me desperately for the sequel. The slow burn is burning slow and I need these two kids to wake up realise how each other feel!
