About this listen

Even if the world did end, five men is far too many to handle. Isn’t it?

Since the Final War, I’ve been doing just fine. I have a lovely cave, a darling vegetable patch, forest views . . . and if loneliness sometimes squeezes my aching heart, well, my books have always kept me company.

That is, until a pack of hunters chase me from my home and right into the arms of several rather large, rather brutish ex-Army Rangers. And those brutes have the nerve to make me the rudest offer I’ve ever heard.

Their protection—for my body.

The whole thing is absurd. Scandalous. Perverted, even. I mean, just the thought of doing that with five men, well, it’s . . . it’s . . .

I take the deal.

Okay, so it’s possible I find them indecently tempting. But these men also have secrets, and pasts so fraught with emotion, I’m not sure I can untangle them all. Or whether they’ll let me.

No, my brutes have made it excruciatingly clear where they think I belong—beneath them, between them, bent over backwards for them . . . but certainly not beside them.

And I don’t think that’s going to work for me.

***

The Brutes of Bristlebrook is a dark(ish) post-apocalyptic, steamy reverse harem romance series, meaning Eden will end up with three or more love interests after I’ve appropriately obliterated my readers’ nerves.

Expect complex characters, 1st person present tense, multiple POVs, MM in the harem, angst, lots of laughs, and to encounter material that some readers may find sensitive—a full description of which can be found on my author website.

Full cast narration of brilliant voice actors and a driven, action packed plot that made me unable to pause it and go to sleep waaaay too late.

Addictively good

As always (say it with me) Read Your Trigger Warnings.

Before I started i read the reviews & honestly I understand the 5 star reviews & I understand the 1 & 2 star reviews.

This was absolutely an ear ball book - the audiobook with full cast was fantastic. I genuinely don't think I would've enjoyed this if I read it.

The plot, while there was definitely just hanging in the periphery while we got to know our characters. Personally I disliked Eden 50% of the time but was then cheering for her the other 50%.

I hate to say it but that cliff hanger was not a cliff hanger for me, there was only 1 ending that would get me to book 2 & that was it. No spoilers here but, darling let's fucking go.

Also slight spoiler but hurting our dear golden retriever ranger was the equivalent of the dog being shot, shame on you Rebecca. Shame.

Anyway this is great for mood readers or listeners who want sub par plot for 90% of the book, insane character development & of course some mouth watering spice.

Really enjoyable, addictive audio.
narrators are PHENOMENAL!

I personally really enjoyed the plot! if you aren't into end of the world apocalypse vibes it may not be for you... which let me tell you, that kinda thing isn't usually for me but I really loved this!!

The characters and their relationships are so well described, I fell in love with them all for their unique characters.

3.5 🌶 for me but a gentle introduction to the dom/ sub scene.

Loved it and can't wait to listen to the next one!

Loved this audiobook!

this 'Why Choose/ Reverse Harem' book has been one of my faves from the genre. Add the post apocalyptic spin and I was hooked from chapter 1 until the cliffhanger end! I'm about to start book two immediately, because I have not been able to stop listening since I started. Sleep be damned 🙈

Worth every second of sleep I lost!
