About this listen

Who knew a chipped tooth could lead to love?

Simon is ready for the real deal when it comes to relationships—unfortunately, his libido hasn’t gotten the message. After a string of disastrous hookups, he finds himself frustrated, annoyed, and missing part of a tooth.

Enter Dr. Jackson Allbrook.

Simon is pretty sure dentists aren’t supposed to be as good-looking as Jackson is. Though the recline of the exam chair is pretty convenient…

Things heat up quickly between the two of them, but Simon’s hesitant to believe he’s actually found his Mr. Right. Jackson’s never been with a man before, so what happens if he decides to go back to playing for the other team?

A standalone novella in the Forever Family Trilogy featuring a hotter-than-sin dentist experiencing a bi-awakening, a graphic designer who considers the term “easy” to be a compliment, a game night that gets a bit out of hand, and no piercings in fun places thankyouverymuch.

An embarrassing piercing mishap causes a chipped tooth and Simon seeks out a dentist. Only Simon is further embarrassed when the dentist overhears him describing the mishap to a friend over the phone. Dr Jackson Allbrook has always considered himself straight and not cut out for dating, but when he overhears Simon’s phone call, it peaks his interest. Simon also has a long history of short-lived relationships. He has a habit of chasing unavailable straight men so he’s pretty wary of establishing anything more than a friendship with Jackson.

I quite enjoyed this second novella (147 pp, just over 4 audio hrs) in the Family Forever Trilogy. Simon is fun and bubbly with no filter, a classic one-night stand guy, and he doesn’t have a malicious bone in his body. Jackson is older and more measured, but equally decent. Like the first book (Favor), I liked the main characters and their chemistry was strong. Unlike Favor, I felt there was more depth and backstory to the two characters in this book and it didn’t feel as rushed. This is a bisexual awakening romance and that was the only weak point: Jackson and the blossoming relationship just never hit more than a moment’s hesitation and the few speed bumps never slowed anything down—it felt a bit TOO easy. 🎧 US voice actor Liam Di Cosimo performed well on the audio. His upbeat voice suited Simon perfectly and he made an effort to really deepen his voice for Jackson’s dialogue.

Fun, bubbly, spicy and sweet!
