Oh and very steamy.
But! The most gorgeous best friends to lovers book I've ever read. I feel like the little heart eyes emoji thinking about Aspen and Keene.
I loved the writing. I loved the characters and their growth. I surprisingly enjoyed that this isn't plot heavy, but rather solely focused on their relationship and exploring it as it develops. Also, it ended perfectly and the epilogue was *chef's kiss* on point.

The audiobook version is fantastic. Both of the narrators (Zachary Johnson & Liam DiCosimo) do Aspen and Keene to perfection and had so much expression and emotion in their voices. Highly recommend this one if you like audiobooks.

Could one game of Don't you Dare really change your entire life? Keene is the athletic carefree, fly by the seat of your pants baseball player. Aspen is the closed off bad boy type with a creative side.
With Keene questioning his sexuality what better time to throw in some dares. Sexual discovering under her guise of a dare, what could possibly go wrong?!

The chemistry between these two is absolute fire and right form the beginning but not how I expected it all. I was so pleasantly surprise how much I loved this book. It brought everything I need a friends to lovers trope. I live for the angst and raw emotion, Ricci delivered on all fronts!
The sass and banter is fantastic, with Keene and Pen being best friends practically their entire lives they know how to make each tick and it create some brilliant scenes!

The inner monologues totally give you the feels though. A full range of emotions can be experienced while reading this book. I wanted to read this when it released but having not read Ricci before I held off and I saw it was coming to audio and I'm so glad I waited. Liam DiCosmo is absolutely fantastic. His raw emotion is exactly what brought to life Keene perfectly!
If you're on the fence about reading this book I highly recommend diving into the audio book!

I absolutely knew that I was going to love this book as soon as CE Ricci announced it. And I was right. I adored this story so much. Loved the chemistry between Keene & Aspen. A must read!! Zachary Johnson & Liam DiCosimo really knocked it out of the park! Their narration is amazing.

Chapter 38 on Audible (Chapter 36 in the book) had me absolutely bawling! The dialogue between the characters was so raw—it left me a complete blubbering mess in the best way!

This is one of the best MM romance books I’ve read/listened to in a long time. Both narrators did an incredible job; the emotion in their voices truly brought it to life. Even though it’s dual narration, they portrayed each MC in a way that complemented each other & made the chapters flow seamlessly.

Definitely give this a listen if you’re after a sweet, spicy, fun MM romance fix 🥰.

One of my first audiobooks, and it had to be one of my favourite books. Thoroughly enjoyed the actors bringing Keene and Aspen to life.

I feel so let down by the positive reviews and high star rating. This is 10 hrs of my life that I wasted and I won't get back just hoping that it would get better. It didn't. The monologues got worse. ADD TO THAT the complete anti-climax (it's literally just explained away as an after thought - the entire plot twist described as 'and then I did this and then they did this' blah blah blah). ADD TO THAT that these best friends have the personalities of damp tea towels and are a 100 on the angtsy pining and a 0 on any humour or interest as a human scale. ADD TO THAT that everything was repeated over and over and over in endless loops and no one ever DID anything - except screw (in endless boring detail about hearts and needs and pining) Ffs.

I want so badly to ask for audible to take this book back but I want to leave this comment more so others will be spared the torture. I have 1 hour left still of this book but I can't take it anymore, I'm throwing in the towel.


I feel sorry for the narrators having to read this book, they were both awesome and I'd listen to them again for sure. Just not this story again ever.
