But! The most gorgeous best friends to lovers book I've ever read. I feel like the little heart eyes emoji thinking about Aspen and Keene.
I loved the writing. I loved the characters and their growth. I surprisingly enjoyed that this isn't plot heavy, but rather solely focused on their relationship and exploring it as it develops. Also, it ended perfectly and the epilogue was *chef's kiss* on point.
The audiobook version is fantastic. Both of the narrators (Zachary Johnson & Liam DiCosimo) do Aspen and Keene to perfection and had so much expression and emotion in their voices. Highly recommend this one if you like audiobooks.

Could one game of Don't you Dare really change your entire life? Keene is the athletic carefree, fly by the seat of your pants baseball player. Aspen is the closed off bad boy type with a creative side.
With Keene questioning his sexuality what better time to throw in some dares. Sexual discovering under her guise of a dare, what could possibly go wrong?!
The chemistry between these two is absolute fire and right form the beginning but not how I expected it all. I was so pleasantly surprise how much I loved this book. It brought everything I need a friends to lovers trope. I live for the angst and raw emotion, Ricci delivered on all fronts!
The sass and banter is fantastic, with Keene and Pen being best friends practically their entire lives they know how to make each tick and it create some brilliant scenes!
The inner monologues totally give you the feels though. A full range of emotions can be experienced while reading this book. I wanted to read this when it released but having not read Ricci before I held off and I saw it was coming to audio and I'm so glad I waited. Liam DiCosmo is absolutely fantastic. His raw emotion is exactly what brought to life Keene perfectly!
If you're on the fence about reading this book I highly recommend diving into the audio book!
