About this listen

No last names. No life stories. Those were the rules.

Once upon a time a cocky, copper-haired tourist sauntered into Zara's bar. And even though she knew better, Zara indulged in a cure for the small-town blues. It was supposed to be an uncomplicated fling - a few sizzling weeks before he went back to his life, and she moved on. Until an accidental pregnancy changed her life.

Two years later, she's made peace with the notion that Dave No-Last-Name will never be found - until one summer day when he walks into her coffee shop, leveling her with the same hot smile that always renders her defenseless.

Dave Beringer has never forgotten the intense month he spent with prickly Zara. Their nights together were the first true intimacy he'd ever experienced. But the discovery of his child is the shock of a lifetime, and his ugly past puts relationships and family out of reach.

Or does it? Vermont's countryside has a way of nurturing even tortured souls. The fields and the orchards - and hard-won love - are bountiful.

I was sucked into this True North series as soon as I read book 1, Bittersweet. Bountiful has found itself on my favourites list too. I love everything about small town Vermont, apple & pear orchards, micro breweries & home made sweetness. This story is about a hockey player, Dave & prickly bar tender come coffee shop owner, Zara, who is also one of Griff’s past hook ups.

There are surprises in store for both leads and one gorgeous little toddler that weaves her way under Dave’s skin and makes him believe he can have it all. If you want a hot, sweet, country life read, have a go at this one. The audio narration is awesome too!

Small Town Vermont & the smell of pastries - Yum!

Enjoyed the mature storyline and real life dramas, nothing over the top and so I felt it easier to be sucked into the romance of the lead characters. I have found this the case of most of the north series, quite a pleasant change to the OTT and often juvenile drama/romance of many others in this genre. Narrators did a good job, nothing too irritating to distract you from the story.

Very enjoyable

Easy to listen to book. Nice story. No real drama. There were some plot elements left unanswered. Not a sports based romance, it’s just his job in the background

Easy listen

Is it Sarina Bowen’s writing I don’t like? Or have I just listened to better books? I just can’t like these book and I think it’s the writing style - it sounds very basic, is a bit clunky and doesn’t flow right.
The narration wasn’t great either, with long pauses at the end of sentences making me think it had stopped only to continue on, breaking up the flow of listening. Even Teddy Hamilton couldn’t save this one.

Just not vibing with this series
