I am not here to yuck anyone's yum-this is all personal preference. I knew walking into this book that it wasn't a typical romance trope or anything (that's fine!) but this just didn't do it for me. The writing was average, but I just found that there was no chemistry between any of the characters (sexually or otherwise). I listened to the audiobook and I didn't love the male voices toh. The main character, Mary Jo, is infuriating. "They wouldn't hurt them, would they?" GIRL LOOK AT THE FUCKED UP SHIT THEY'RE DOING TO YOU.
C'MON, where are the brain cells. The sex scenes were pretty tame if I'm honest, despite the fact they are NC. The whole story just feels very forced.
