Vance and Luke’s secret on-again/off-again romance is strained when Vance is offered a mural commission in one of the property’s owned by Luke’s church. Despite Luke’s initial rebuff, things heat up quickly. While this had the ardour of the first book, it felt overly melodramatic when the acting out and the hardships began to pile up. I actually felt disappointed in the two MCs at times, some reactions were childish and others were so schmaltzy that I didn’t recognise the characters anymore - “Sky baby” and “I love you, my Vanny baby” seemed way too much for these smouldering guys. Having said that, I do have a soft spot for the characters, I was gripped by the story, and I’ll definitely check out the third book when it’s released. Outstanding audio performances by Iggy Toma (Charlie Thurston) & Aiden Snow.

So very emotional, their journey is complex with push and pulls throughout.
Vanny and Sky were perfect for me the storyline I adored.
I didn’t want the book or the audiobook to finish.
