Trailer: Creatures of Change

  • Summary

  • We’ve all said it at some point: "I’m just a creature of habit." And sure, there’s a lot to say for consistency and routine. But what about that other aphorism— “the only constant in life is change"? Maybe we’re creatures of change, too.

In this podcast, we’ll explore change from a variety of perspectives: stories of people who’ve made huge changes in the trajectory of their  lives, others who have made small but lasting and impactful changes in their day-to-day lives, and— we’ll also just nerd out about the science of human behavior, and how we can get better at executing the small changes, and embracing the big ones.

As I prepare to launch this new podcast, I'd love to know if you or someone you know might be a great guest to bring on! Below are the 4 main categories of guests I'm looking for:

    1) folks who've made lasting, impactful behavior change, especially when it wasn't easy to get there (i.e. went from lots of debt to debt-free and budgeting consistently)

    2) folks with interesting stories about big life changes/pivots— whether career, lifestyle, relationship or otherwise (sometimes chosen, sometimes life chose)

    3) experts in psychology of behavior change (psychology, behavioral economics, sociology, etc.)

    4) folks who are wanting to make a behavior change and receive ~30 min of coaching on a podcast episode, followed by homework and weekly self-recorded audio check-in's, and a follow-up podcast conversation 1-3 months later

The link to use to pitch yourself— or to send to a friend who you think would be a great fit— is https://bit.ly/creaturesofchangeguest .

I want to be very mindful that these conversations don't become thinly-veiled sales pitches for certain products or services (ummm unless it's Peloton? LOL), so keep that in mind as you're filling out the form.

You can connect with me on instagram @valkaymartin and @thegaiacenter— and I hope you'll also subscribe to our sister podcast, Bodyful!

Subscribe, and stay tuned soon for episode 1 of Creatures of Change.
