As events unfolded after George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis the peaceful protests being held in his honor quickly turned to violent spectacles. This violence was expressed in physical attacks against police, non-protesting citizens such as business owners and workers, and even occasionally against other protesters who tried to stop the rioters In addition there was generalized vandalism against buildings as well as arson, graffiti painting and looting. The fact that the protests that developed were intended to be about racism, especially among police officers, in majority black, urban neighborhoods was obvious. I had personally been seeing a lot of more generalized discontent among people who posted videos on the app Tik Tok so I wasn't really that surprised in one sense. The people who were doing the complaining in these 60 second video clips were mostly young, late high school or college-age. A number of them, those who were the most vocal, were advocating a change in American government involving Socialism or communism. Personally I don't see anything wrong with this because America is a free society and you are allowed to be a communist or socialist or an anarchist or whatever you want to be and you can even start your own political party to reflect your beliefs. I can't think of a communist or socialist government with an equal degree of freedom. In this Tik-Tok video one of my favorite and most articulate young Communists expresses some of his views. He is actually running for president although I think he's like 19 years old and so therefore couldn't actually serve as president of the United States. After Bernie Sanders dropped out of the presidential race I noticed a turn in thinking among some of the “Young Communists” (as I called them) toward calling for violence weather specifically by saying things like “burn the corporations” or referring to taking advantage of their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms which I just naturally think of as more of a right wing/Republican ideology. Because of seeing this undercurrent in American society on social networks before the George Floyd incident happened I wasn't surprised by what followed. So this isn't about the more obvious part of the protests (black lives matter) it's about the undercurrent of “others” that flowed with the current of the peaceful protests creating a path of violence and destruction and the players involved in creating that undercurrent. To_understand how this change happened let's look at two more videos from Tik Tok these are both by the same girl and she is, according to her profile, from Minneapolis. I'm going to blur out her username just because she is saying things that are maybe not intended for public consumption even though hers is a public profile and therefore there is nothing keeping anyone from finding the video. I'm going to show the Clips in Reverse sequential order to show you how much that her attitude changed and how quickly it changed between being a radical revolutionary and being totally about black lives matter to the extent that you wouldn't realize it was the same person unless you knew. In this first video (which is actually from a later date than the next video by her that I will show you) she's expressing everything that was going on on the ground around her at that moment in Minneapolis. It seems like there were a lot of things that were being spread as truth which may or may not have been accurate because I have not seen much more in the media about those specific points. However it is obvious that her focus is all about what happened to George Floyd and the black lives matter movement. Now let me jump back to a video that according to the date on the page was made one day before the video that we just watched. In this video she is expressing a very different viewpoint on things and a different way that she feels they should be reacted to. listen to her in her own words. So it isn't like I didn't see that there was certainly the potential for the rioting and violence that accompanied the peaceful protesters because people were talking about doing it before it happened. The people that I saw doing it we're not antifa but they were these otherwise normal average American young people who for whatever reason have become an Emirate with the idea of socialism and communism and of a Revolt by the people to topple the government of America. of course that is all just talk on social networks until somebody lights the match or in this case until someone breaks the first window. this brings me to my next piece in this little puzzle which is the iconic video of the man, white man, who started breaking windows in Minneapolis during the initial protests.
