    Original broadcast November 16, 2015

The hit song "Slings and Arrows from the title track of the album has been the opening and closing theme for SaskScapes thanks to Jeffery Straker! The Saskatchewan born singer/songwriter has established himself as one of the most successful (and busiest) artists this province has produced, and has gone on to international acclaim. Kevin Power joins Jeffery in a conversation that is more fun than two people ought to have in a podcast! And, it's another "6 degrees" moment as Jeffery reveals his musical lineage which connects him to Beethoven and Chopin. Even Jeffery is part of Taron Cochran's 6-degrees world.

Originally released on October 22, 2015. There are some sad updates in the introduction to this rebroadcast.

The Happy Nun Cafe (www.thehappynuncafe.com), located in Forget, had all the ambience of a country cafe with a menu that is as sophisticated as they come. The Happy Nun was a dream-come-true for owner/chef Katie Vinge, and this podcast is a dream come true for Kevin. Welcome to the first SaskScapes story slam recorded live on site. Patrons dined on a delicious menu and brave centre stage sharing heart-felt, moving and hilarious stories about their lives. A truly magical evening!

  • Episode 110 - SaskScapes in the Summer - "What's that supposed to be Anyway" (part 2)
    Jul 10 2023

    Send us a Text Message.

This is a re-release of the podcast originally recorded in 2014. All of the guests have moved forward in their lives since then, still active in the arts community within and outside of Saskatchewan.

A continuation of SaskScapes podcast number 3. Could two bales of compressed recycled material placed on a busy downtown intersection possibly be art? What’s that supposed to be anyway? Somebody funded that?! Artist Keeley Haftner and 6 other artists debate the merit of their work, and may have you rethinking how you look at art.
