  • Reconnect to Canada with Eva Chipiuk
    May 14 2024

Eva Chipiuk has dedicated her career to representing individuals facing formidable adversaries, much like the timeless story of David taking on Goliath. Specifically, she has focused on safeguarding property rights in the context of major energy developments and advocating for civil liberties in legal challenges against the government. A significant highlight of her civil liberties advocacy was the rare opportunity to cross-examine the Prime Minister of Canada during a live broadcast that garnered global attention.

These demanding legal environments are characterized by their highly technical and intricate nature, often unfolding within tight timeframes. Eva has not only thrived but excelled in these challenging settings, consistently demonstrating her ability for skillful mitigation and adept management.

In 2010, Eva’s personal life took an unexpected turn when she received a diagnosis of an extremely rare form of pancreatic cancer, necessitating life-saving surgery. This diagnosis and its subsequent consequences prompted a profound reevaluation of her life goals. In 2012, she decided to take a hiatus from the legal profession and embarked on a global journey focused on personal wellness and self-discovery. This journey led her to establish two health and wellness businesses. More recently, Eva founded Empowered Canadians, an organization with the goal of informing Canadians about their legal and political processes and enabling them to become more active citizens in our democracy.

Collectively, these experiences, which encompass Eva’s professional achievements, educational pursuits, and personal trials, have deeply influenced her dedication to justice and her belief in the pivotal role of education. Specifically, they have reinforced Eva’s unwavering commitment to advocating for the rights of individuals who may be more vulnerable within society and enabling others to actively contribute to positive change.

  • Sara-Lyn Quist : Political Action for Hope; Southern Director for the UCP Board of Directors
    May 7 2024

Sara-Lyn Quist is the current (2023 -2025) Southern Director of the United Conservative Party board of directors. She and her family reside in a medium sized town located at the top end of the Southern region.

Sara-Lyn had been an active member of the Olds-Didisbury-Three Hills CA board and also ran the satellite campaign office in her town, organizing all the volunteers for that riding in the May 2023 election.

Along with that she still runs a very cool social media initiative called Alberta Speaks, inviting Albertans to Speak Up during the election as to why they were voting conservative and to continue speaking up.

Bringing politics to her community has been very important to Sara-Lyn. In the past she’s hosted seven MLA’s at various events with an effort to connect our politicians to the people who need to be heard.

She believes all political engagement is essential and should be encouraged if we’re to see consistent, good governance. Apathy got us here and connection and communication will go a long ways to getting us out.

We dive into the nitty gritty of her role and what she envisions for the future of Alberta.

You can find Alberta Speaks on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alberta.speaks/
