  • Receiving the Savior's Divine Empathy
    May 16 2024

#77 - "Black clouds may also form in our lives, which can blind us to God’s light and even cause us to question if that light exists for us anymore. Some of those clouds are of depression, anxiety, and other forms of mental and emotional affliction. They can distort the way we perceive ourselves, others, and even God. They affect women and men of all ages in all corners of the world," said Sister Reyna I. Aburto.

She continued, "As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have made a covenant with God that we “are willing to bear one another’s burdens” and “to mourn with those that mourn.” This may include becoming informed about emotional illnesses, finding resources that can help address these struggles, and ultimately bringing ourselves and others to Christ, who is the Master Healer."

In this episode, Jason & Allison discuss and testify of Jesus's divine empathy and how living our covenant, as described by Sister Aburto, can be the key to parting those dark clouds that hang over us, and allow The Light to shine again in our lives.

#76 - In this institute lesson, Jason's class discusses ways they have reached out to the Lord in faith, and subsequently been made whole from that action, trust, and confidence in Him.

They also discuss King Benjamin's example of how remembering that God is great, and our own nothingness, can help us stay out of the pride cycle and lead to our greater prosperity and blessings.

  • Timing
    Apr 24 2024

#75 - "In our service in the Lord’s church we should remember that when is just as important as who, what, where, and how," said President Oaks in his 2002 BYU address, "Timing." "The first principle of the gospel is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith means trust— trust in God’s will, trust in His way of doing things, and trust in His timetable. We should not try to impose our timetable on His," he said.

We know this can be hard. Trusting not only in His will but His timing for you and your life can be exhausting. But we testify that it works out, much better than you can imagine, as we keep ourselves fastened to Him, His covenants, commandments, and yes, even his will -- and especially His timing. In this episode, we share some of our own experiences with His timing and we hope it blesses those who need to "hear Him in the wait."
