He is the founder of Grappolo Wine School in Denver, which offers immersive wine travel, wine events, and structured courses, including the VIA's Italian Wine Maestro certification. In addition, he’s the wine director at Restaurant Olivia, a mighty pasta-focused concept with an Italian-heavy wine list. Scott's professional credentials include Italian Wine Ambassador, Italian Wine educator, and Certified Wine Educator. Additionally, he is an official Orvieto Ambassador and Langhe Wine Ambassador. His passion for Italian wines grew during his two years in Piedmont and Tuscany, where he earned a Master's degree in Wine Culture from Slow Food's University of Gastronomic Sciences and gained practical experience in the vineyards of Chianti Classico. McKenna and Bea discuss the history of wines made by Chiara Boschis, as well as impact of climate and organic farming on wines from this region. Beatrice provides her perspective and hopes as an upcoming leader in this winemaking family. More about today’s guest Beatrice was born in Alba in 1997. She grew up in a winemaking family - her aunt is Chiara Boschis, the first woman winemaker and the original "Barolo Girl" of the Barolo Boys revolutionary movement, and the first Organic Certified producer in Barolo. Beatrice grew to love viticulture and enology at La Scuolo Enologica Umberto I and during internships in Australia and USA. She completed her Bachelor at Università degli Studi di Torino with a thesis on reductive off odors in wine. Her Masters was completed at Geisenheim Univerity (Germany) with a focus on Riesling fermentation. She currently words at E. Pira & figli and looks forward to continuing the family legacy - a story "to be continued!"
