"ore twists than three little pig's tails"
A very good reading of an excellent story of good and evil, which constantly surprises and delights in a world of creative brilliance.
"Perfect. But beware of sequels."
This was all I dreamed it would be and more. Nuanced, exciting and modern take on fairy tales, good and evil, self discovery.. Beautiful, inspiring and I welled up at several parts with how much I connected to both characters and the story.
But I have to warn (without spoilers) that I really cannot recommend the sequels. There are some good parts in them but overall they slowly undermine most of the wonderful subversive aspects that I loved so much in this book and replace them with watered down versions and the very tropes and stereotypes I thought we were getting away from. I wrote reviews on the other two book pages if you want more info but this is as vague as I'll be on the first book page.
What the beautiful relationship (my OTP if you will) of Sophie and Agatha turns into especially leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.
So if you want to be left with satisfaction and good (not Good lol) vibes then finish your journey with this perfectly wrapped-up book.
I'm so let down but this first book still means a lot to me, even if something went really wrong in the other two.
A fascinating story that mixes traditional fairy tails and where their heros started. At the school for good and evil two girls with controversial personalities that come from beyond the woods try to remain friends whilst being in different schools.
"School For Good and Evil"
I love this book. I've been glued to it and nearly forgot to do my homework. Honestly! I love the narrator as well, as she is so soothing. There is no problem at all with the length of the book, because it gives you this feeling that you want to read on to know the main plot. The vocabulary is also fine. Perfect for 8-17 aged people. My personal favourite character was Beatrix (spoilers ahead!), I liked her catty behaviour. To me, turns out the good people were catty and obnoxious, while the evil were more kind. Okay I'm going to go now. Bye!
Soman Chainani did and excellent job! I could not stop listening! I am already reading the third book! I just wish he would write a fourth. The reader was ok. There was nothing wrong with her, she just did not read the book or do the voices how I imagined them. Overall though, 5 stars!!!👍🌸😀🌺
"Why didn't it finish 😭"
It didn't finish😫😭 but loved polly lee as narrator but they still didn't finish it 😡. 10/10 but some different voices than I expected.
