Maggie is a 17-year-old girl who's had a bad year. She was smart and on track, but her mom left, her dad is depressed, she's graduating, barely, and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football scholarship. Lately she thinks life is all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has.
Then she meets Caleb. She saves his life and instantly knows there's something about him that's intriguing, but she's supposed to be on her way to a date with his cousin. Things change when they touch, sparks ignite. Literally.
They imprint with each other and she sees their future life together flash before her eyes. She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she's ever felt before and she needs the touch of his skin to survive. Now, not only has her dad come out of his depression to be a father again, but Caleb's enemies know that Caleb is imprinted and are after Maggie to stop them both from gaining their abilities.
Can Caleb save her or will they be forced to live without each other after just finding one another?

"An addicting series!" (B.Abbi Glines, author of Existence)

"One of my favorites!"
I have read/listened to this book so many times I've lost track! Yes, it is super sweetly romantic with a side of some supernatural and action, but that's the part that I love. The narrator does a really good job distinguishing the characters, even though they're not what I heard in my head I like it well enough.
"Really enjoyed the unique and romantic story."
feeling giddy and excited like a little girl falling in love for the first time. such a great and magical story.
narrator has amazing talent for voices and very easy to listen to...onto the next book.
"LOVED the book - Even better on Audio!"
Definitely! Anyone who likes to listen to books at work - it's a very SFW read.
It's a young adult supernatural romance without sparkly vampires or werewolves.
Absolutely Maggie - her voice was exactly what you'd expect from reading the book, soft, sweet...
When Maggie is kidnapped and all the Ace's are searching for her - you really get the emotions when Caleb finally gets to her.
Grab this up! It's a great book and the audiobook is fantastic!
"Couldn't finish...just bad."
I could not finish this book. The narrator is annoying. The characters have no depth. They have no true character development. The love between Maggie and Caleb is so unbelievable and it irritates me. Her absolute belief of the whole imprinting without any doubt just irritated me. And not to mention the author continues tell us about what imprinting is for the majority of the book. I stopped reading after chapter 18. I felt I could use my time better.
"Great voice, but lacking in male voice variations"
She is a strong female character, who values family and friendship. She is not written as some warrior princess, but has the character to overcome obstacles. She is written as a 'normal' teenager who is self-reliant, well adjusted, and just happens to be drawn into a supernatural world.
I feel that there is not enough depth in the narration of the male voices. There is a voice for older males, a voice for new adult males, and a voice for angry/snarky males. I wish that there was more variation in the voice/timbre for each character.
I find enjoyment in the story. Maggie's life, as described at the beginning of the story, is rather heartbreaking. Later, the action is exciting. The frustrations are often palpable.
I hope that my opinions are taken as constructive (as intended).
"Falling in love unexpectedly..."
I never knew what to expect from this book having found it on a goodreads list of mate books. I was looking for something more wolf shifter specific but I was pleasantly surprised and had this "read" in a day! Normally I'd have to start and stop but I couldn't pause this for too long. LOVED the whole thing and the narrator was simply perfect for me. ♡
I read this book years ago and it was a lovely refreshing listen. I enjoyed it just as much seconds time around. It is a great YA story with a twist of paranormal. The main couple are very likeable. I would recommend the whole series.
"A Favorite to listen to over & over"
I love this author and reader/performer. I listen while in the car & when I can't sleep. The reader isn't tramatic but inserts the perfect amount of emotion.
I have read the whole series about Maggie & Caleb at least 4x. It's that good. It's almost too sappy at times but really enchanting as well.
"An EPIC TRUE LOVE STORY"
SWEET, EPIC, ROMANCE
The Heroine and Hero made the story. I love that this is a true romance love story. It’s a very sweet read about two young lovers getting to know each other. There was so much that went on and I gobbled it up.
This is my first Cris narration. I loved her voice. I found it very sweet, young and it matched the Heroine perfectly. I loved listening to her inner struggles. I felt her confusion, pain and love for the Hero. I found the transition to Caleb’s not my preference. I usually prefer the narrator to do a deeper voice, but Cris made it more younger, which I understood because Caleb is suppose to be young too, but it just didn’t really match up to what I was thinking in my head.
An EPIC YOUNG LOVE STORY
6 Finding True Love Stars
I read this book a few years ago and I never got around to writing a review. I thought the audio version would be a perfect re-read.
As a romance reader, I am a SUCKER for the Can-not-live-with-out-each-other story line. You know, the one where it makes you ache, heart swoon and head sigh. Shelly Crane delivered on this one. It’s a TRUE Romance.
Maggie is your typical ordinary teenager. Her boyfriend breaks up with her, her mom leaves her and her dad ignores her. Her life isn’t perfect. One day she meets Caleb. Well, she saves him from getting run over by a car. It’s a super meet-cute. When Caleb and Maggie meet, sparks fly and it’s like BAM insta-connection.
Maggie is Caleb’s Significance.
What does it all mean? It means, Maggie isn’t so ordinary anymore.
I consider Significance a YA paranormal book and I love it. It reads super sweet and super innocent. The story is about two people learning about each other and forming an intense relationship.
Caleb is different. His family eventually gets paired up with their significant. It’s not easy finding a significant, it hasn’t been happening lately and Caleb is the first to be paired up in a long time. Once two people are paired, eventually they will obtain powers. There’s a lot more that goes on, but that’s the shorten version.
Another family, not part of Caleb’s is jealous of the new pairing and so there’s retaliation and beautiful drama. Maggie becomes thrown in the middle and Caleb is so sexy because he goes all protective-cave-man on her.
I love reading Maggie’s thoughts. I loved going through what she went through. Everything is a big mystery and there’s so much to learn. I was just sucked into Caleb’s world and all the special things that went with it.
I loved the rival clans and all the drama.
Let’s just say, everything is intense!
The one thing that I enjoyed most about this read is the love Caleb and Maggie have for each other. It’s so intense because of the pairing. I like that they are only meant for each other. I also like that they were almost strangers and within a few minutes they become paired. It was just like I said crazy intense.
Definitely better then the printed version, to be able to hear their story come alive audibly is an wondefull experience, not all audible books can pull it off but this is definitly one that can.
Most memorable moment has to be when they first touch and imprint, his reaction to finding his significant is, for me swoon worthy and makes your heartbeat faster,
The way Chris pulls you into the book as she reads makes you feel like you are there experiencing the story, she adds such depth and emotion to the book, that you would miss out on in just the printed version, she's definitely up there with Stephan Fry is with the harry potter books
Definitely and I did....twice :)
The overall story is amazing so glad I found this book, its a beautiful love story with twists and dangers but the characters relationship is solid.....they are soul mates able to get throuh anything if they face it together.....it was lovely not to have the whole 'love triangle' and other common relationship issues that can arise in some romance novals. The characters are fantastic and you really fall in love with them all.
