Be careful who you trust, for even the Devil was once an angel.
My name is Jemma Blackburn, and I have a secret. I know vampires are real. I watched one murder my father eight months ago, and even though they tried to convince me it didn't happen - that I'd lost touch with reality due to the trauma, I know what I saw was real. Hollow Hills is now the place I call home. It was supposed to be my chance at a normal life. My chance to bury my secret and start over. But everyone around me is keeping their own secrets, whispering lies into my ears like promises, and one of them is about to turn my entire world upside down.
I thought I had it all figured out. I thought I had the answers. I thought I knew who I was. The truth is, I didn't even know the half of it. There's a reason these vampires are still after me. There's a reason they will always hunt me. Because I'm not human. I'm the devil they fear and the angel they crave.
Only problem is, I don't know it yet.

"For a YA Book, I'm Impressed!"
I loved the narrator. She did an amazing job. I plan to see what other books she narrated.
I really liked both Trace and Gabriel. I won't go into details as to why, because I'll spoils parts of the story!
She does a good job with giving a new voice to all characters!
Hmmmm, no, not one sitting, but I did listen to it over 2 - 3 days. And I bought the sequel, which is lacking an audiobook.
Great book. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!
"good book, horrible narrator"
I liked the story and the book itself. the narrator on the other hand made my skin crawl. if it wasn't for the fact I paid for the book I would of stopped listening. I don't like the way she did any of the characters or how she made them seem personality wise from her different voice tones with them......I wish I had the book to just read myself.
"Good story- narrator ruins it"
She did a good job this book and the narrator is just terrible the voices are terrible on the management
really takes away pleasure
such a great story! I was a little hesitant to read it at first because the description wasn't enough for me. Turned out to be an excellent story and wow what an ending to that book just when things are starting to get good a huge twist comes into play. Can't wait to read the next one
Yes I would I couldn't put it down I thought it was a good read!
It has some elements of other books but pretty much it's a standalone .. At least I haven't read one that's like this:-)
I don't believe I've listen to her read before.
Oh yes there was but I can't see what it is it would give too much away .
I know but two is out and I can't wait for it to come out on audible hopefully soon !!!!!!
"awesome narrator! awesome audiobook! NEED SEQUEL!"
what happens in the cemetery - CHILLS
This was my first time listening to this narrator and I loved her! I couldnt stop listening. Ugh I wish she was my best friend!!!
OMG WHYYY did it end there? My heart was broken at the end of this one! NEED BOOK 2!
"Didn't make my ears bleed...much"
The story was predictable the characters were shallow weak and often annoying stupid. This would have been OK with me, I enjoy and often adore B and C rate books and movies but the performance just about killed me. It was soooo bad. She mispronounced words and her acting really didn't fit the dialogue. She sounded whiny and immature throughout. Her attempt at masculine voices made the men all sound like morons.Should you choose to listen to or read this...I suggest you stay away from sharp object lest you be provoked into stabbing yourself in the eye. Just my opinion.
"ok story, narrator was annoying"
the story had so so interesting elements regarding angels & how vampires were made. the story was slow & the lead character was a bit clueless.
I honestly can't say if it would be better if the narrator had any talent, but I can say I'm not going to be able to finish the book because of this narrator.
The characters are basically Buffy, Xander, Willow, Cordelia and even Angel and Spike. I might have been able to get past that but I just can't stand the narrator, even at 1.25 speed. Very poor job. Thank you, Audible, but I'll have my credit back now, please.
"Needs a new narator!"
The narrator needs to learn the difference between wary and weary, and her pronunciation was annoying on a few words, but especially so on "exactly".
