Seraph Black used to think that she was prepared for anything. She could last days without eating and she always walked away from the violent altercations with her father relatively unharmed. She survived working at the club and the drive to school every day in her mother's rust-bucket of a car...but it all changed when Noah and Cabe came bulldozing into her life, careless of the precious secrets they picked apart in their quest to take over her world. She was even less prepared for the mysterious Miro and Silas, and nothing could have prepared her for the bond. The connection.

Story
Did you know roughly twenty-seven percent of child abductions are carried out by an acquaintance or family friend? Who better to lure you away than someone you know and trust? With every day that passed, the likelihood of my being found grew smaller. I never imagined I’d be one of them—my face tacked to a bulletin board at the local grocery store and a statewide search issued on my behalf. Even harder to fathom was that I’d ever be one of the lucky few who made it home after enduring years of captivity.

Story
Hi, I'm Alexis Delaney. I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I can see the dead. And talk to the dead. And push them away and, well, help them move on. For years I've been struggling to survive the souls still roaming around. The shitheads always seem to find me. Moving from town to town every few months never helped either. More dead just always find me. But things are changing for me now. I'm moving in with my uncle Rory and cousin Tara. I'm finally going to be able to do normal teenage stuff I've been missing out on. Right?

Moving to a new town to start college, where I can try to be normal. Or at least pretend I am. I’m willing to fake it, because I’m tired of trying to get better. Tired of spilling my guts to doctors and therapists to understand why I’ve heard voices since I was a child.

When my mother decided to pull me out of school, I didn’t say anything. When she homeschooled me, isolated me, kept me fearful of my peers, I followed along. When she packed me up and sent me across the country to live with my grandmother in the one-stoplight town of Lee Vines, I did as she said. But now that she’s left me here I’m on my own. I can make my own decisions. Make my own mistakes. And that includes if I let in the four boys that live next door.

From USA TODAY Bestselling Author, C. L. Stone, listen to Friends vs. Family, the third book in The Academy Ghost Bird Series.
Sang Sorenson is forced to suffer through another of her mother's extreme punishments. It almost kills her.

Kota, Luke, Silas, Nathan, Victor, Gabriel and North do everything within their power to show Sang what true loyalty means. It takes more than blood to make a family and they want Sang in theirs.
In this third book of The Academy series Sang experiences a taste of freedom and what it's like to truly be cared for...to be wanted. Sang learns a bit more about the boys' broken families and the boys discover more than they could ever have bargained for about Sang's. The Academy was the answer to their problems. Could it be hers?

AMAZING
I loved this book! This book holds some scenes with abuse from Sang’s mother but hopefully will be the last. I love the parts at the end of each novel with the point of view from the different boys, including the academy teachers. I love the loyalty that was shown with the boys and those they cared about, it makes you wish for that kind of relationship. C.L Stone is an amazing author, with amazing ideas and creativity, I am completely in love with her writing. I have still found myself caught up in the emotions of the book and absolutely love it. As this is a series, you need to read the first and second book before this one but you won’t be disappointed. In my experience, a lot of series have an awesome first book but then a pretty disappointing second - for this one the second one wasn’t boring, and neither is this one. In fact this whole series so far is still one of my favourites. I give this book full marks because I love everything about it. I love this book!!!

the main character in this book is pathetically annoying. I'm still continuing with the series because i haven't managed to work out the story line yet. something has to happen eventually
