Story
The New York Times best-selling memoir that inspired the film October Sky, Rocket Boys is a uniquely American memoir - a powerful, luminous story of coming of age at the dawn of the 1960s, of a mother's love and a father's fears, of a group of young men who dreamed of launching rockets into outer space... and who made those dreams come true. Nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award, Homer Hickam's lush, lyrical memoir is a marvelously entertaining chronicle of triumph.

Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

Publisher's Summary
Starting with her own story of displacement as an internally displaced person, Malala introduces listeners to what it means to lose your home, your community and the only world you've ever known. She shares the personal stories of some of the incredible girls she has met on her various journeys to refugee camps and the cities where refugee girls and their families have settled. The anecdotes focus on different parts of each girl's story - from what it was like the day she left her home to what daily life is like in a refugee camp.
In a time of immigration crises, war, and border conflicts, We Are Displaced is an important reminder from one of the most famous people to experience displacement that everyone deserves universal human rights and a home.
